The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State has concluded its state congress, with party leaders describing the exercise as a major step toward political unity and structural consolidation.
The congress, held in Yola on Saturday, April 18, 2026, produced Alhaji Hamza Bello Madagali as the new state chairman. In his acceptance remarks, Madagali pledged inclusive leadership, assuring party members that fairness and equality would guide his administration.
“My leadership is for everyone. No member will be treated differently. There will be equal rights and opportunities for all,” he said, promising to strengthen the party through unity and collective participation.
Speaking at the event, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri described the congress as a landmark in the evolution of the APC in Adamawa State. He said the party had successfully moved from alignment to what he termed a “full fusion” of political structures across all levels.
According to the governor, adjustments such as the rescheduling of the congress timetable were necessary to ensure a smooth integration process. He noted that the peaceful conduct of ward, local government, and state congresses demonstrated the political maturity of stakeholders.
Fintiri commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC National Working Committee, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and other key actors for their roles in facilitating the process.
He added that the completion of the congress signaled the emergence of a fully structured APC in the state, with leadership now in place at ward, local government, and state levels.
The governor urged the newly elected executives to uphold accountability, inclusiveness, and fairness, stressing that their mandate is to strengthen the party and secure victories in future elections.
Reaffirming his political commitment, Fintiri expressed readiness to lead the party to success in the 2027 general elections, particularly in support of President Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He also announced the formation of the Adamawa Renewed Hope 226 Movement (ARH226M), a grassroots mobilisation initiative covering all 226 wards in the state. The movement, he said, would be inaugurated in the coming week with structures spanning from ward to state level.
Fintiri called on APC support groups across Adamawa to align with the new movement, describing it as a unified platform for political mobilisation. The governor congratulated the newly elected executives, describing the congress as the beginning of a renewed political phase for the APC in Adamawa State.
Madagali, in his closing remarks, thanked party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him and reiterated his commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive party.Yahoo Mail: Search, Organize, Conquer
