World Drug Day: NDLEA Visits Religious Body To Advocate Bad Effect Of Illicit Drugs In Adamawa

The national drug law enforcement agency ( NDLEA), Adamawa state chapter has visited Upper Room Cathedral Jimeta Yola in advocating against drug Abuse and illicit drug trafficking to commemorate the united nations international day against drug Abuse and illicit trafficking drug Abuse and illicit trafficking illicit trafficking in Adamawa state.
United Nations International day against drug Abuse is usually marked on 26 June every year, to create awareness on the dangers of drug Abuse and illicit trafficking with the sole aim of achieving a world free land
In commemoration of this year’s celebration theme: The Evidence is clear: Invest in prevention. The chairman and chief executive officer of NDLEA, Brig.Gen. Mohammed Buba Maruwa Rit represented by the NDLEA commander Mr Femi samson addressed the church and specifically the Youths who are already into drugs and also to the youth that yet to indulge in drugs to abstain totally from the use of drugs.

Meanwhile,he advises parents in the church to train their children in the right way, seeing the holy Bible and Quran condemn it and so that the children can live a meaningful life.
Speaking with the press in an interview, Rev Dr Peter Makanto the presiding Bishop over the Upper Room Cathedral Church Yola, expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman Mohammed Buba and Offices and Men of the NDLEA for being able to deliver their mandate in curtailing the sales, importation, exportation of drugs and other illicit substance.
” I am aware of all the tremendous efforts you are making in addressing the issue of drug Abuse particularly in Adamawa state. I encourage you to do more until we achieve a clean state that is completely drug free.
Bishop Makanto also uses the opportunity to advise the youth stop abusing drugs and also to avoid illicit drug trafficking in the state.
