Fintiri Wins APC Senatorial Primaries in Adamawa North

Governor Ahmedu Umaru Fintiri has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primaries for the Adamawa Northern Senatorial District following the conclusion of the party’s primary election held on May 18.
The Returning Officer, Afraid Williams, who announced the results, described the exercise as seamless, free and fair, noting that the process was peacefully conducted across the five local government areas that make up the district.
According to him, the election covered Madagali, Michika, Mubi North, Mubi South and Maiha local government areas, with a total voting strength of 292,070. He stated that 174,514 voters were accredited, while the total votes cast also stood at 174,514.
Announcing the final tally, Williams said Ahmedu Umaru Fintiri secured 16,579 votes to emerge winner of the contest.Other aspirants recorded the following results:
Buba Kwacham — 6,958 votesHamisu Maidugu — 6,977 votesWilliams added that representatives from the five local government areas submitted their results, which were subsequently collated at the APC Secretariat in Mubi before the final announcement.
The outcome officially positions Fintiri as the APC candidate for the Adamawa Northern Senatorial District ahead of the forthcoming elections.
