Eight Nabbed as Adamawa Police Crack Down on Criminal Network

The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested eight suspects for alleged criminal conspiracy, unlawful possession of dangerous weapons, and the sale and consumption of banned substances in Yola, the state capital.
The arrests were made during a coordinated intelligence-led operation by police operatives as part of ongoing efforts to curb crime and criminal activities across the state.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, said the operation targeted a suspected “Shilla” criminal network believed to be involved in activities posing a threat to public peace and security.
The suspects, identified as Bawuro Mohammad, Hamza Hassan, Aliyu Abubakar, Alfa Abubakar, Fahat Hamma, Dahiru Usman, Ibrahim Samaila, and Jefe Jostine, were arrested in separate locations within Shagari, Yolde Pate, and Wuro Hausa communities of Yola South Local Government Area.
According to the police, several dangerous weapons and suspected illicit substances were recovered during the operation. The exhibits are believed to be linked to the suspects’ alleged criminal activities.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabir Umar Hassan, has directed a thorough investigation into the case and assured residents that all those found culpable will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.
He reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, stressing that security operatives would continue to intensify efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
The police chief also warned individuals engaged in unlawful activities to desist or face decisive action from law enforcement agencies.
