Speaking during a press briefing in Yola on Sunday, Abdulhameed said he is offering himself for service at the National Assembly, promising people-oriented representation if elected. He also pledged to abide by the decisions and directives of his party throughout the electoral process.
The former NIRSAL boss appealed to voters across the state to support his ambition, stating that his goal is to deliver effective and quality representation in the Senate.
Abdulhameed, who hails from Limawa Ward in Yola North Local Government Area, outlined his academic and professional background. He began his education at Central Primary School, Jimeta, before attending Government Secondary School, Mubi, where he served as Head Boy.
He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Agricultural Economics from Ahmadu Bello University, obtained in 1987, and later earned a Master of Public Administration from the Nigerian Defence Academy in 2013.
In his remarks, the Director General of the Abdulhameed Campaign Organisation, Japhet Kefas, described the aspirant as a detribalised and experienced leader capable of delivering on his mandate. Kefas, a former member of the Adamawa State House of Assembly representing Gombi Constituency, said Abdulhameed’s exposure and experience position him as a strong contender for the Senate seat.
He added that the declaration event also provided an opportunity for the media and the public to engage with the aspirant’s ideas, priorities, and plans for effective legislative representation.
